Since the Sikh struggle for independence from India began in the 1980's, many Sikh political prisoners have been languishing in Indian prisons even after having completed their sentences, with some spanning more than three decades.
To illegally and forcefully keep political prisoners behind bars even after they have long served their sentences is in violation of India's own constitution and internationally recognized human rights norms.
In solidarity with the ongoing Qaumi Insaaf Morcha on the borders of Chandigarh, here’s a primer on who some of the political prisoners are and the Seva they have done for the Khalsa Panth (please zoom).
Let’s all strive to do as much Naam, Bani da Abhiaas and Ardaas to Bandi-Chorh (bondage-breaker) Satguru so the Morcha can succeed in freeing the Singh’s.
